“Into the Wild Heart of the Rhodopes” – A Photo Tour of Butterflies, Birds & Reptiles

Our recent photo tour in the Western Rhodopes was nothing short of magical. Together with a group of passionate nature lovers and photographers, we immersed ourselves in the quiet beauty of one of Bulgaria’s wildest and most biodiverse regions.

From the very first morning, when soft mist drifted over the hills and sunlight poured through the forest canopy, we knew we were in for something special. We wandered along hidden trails, paused by mountain streams and rocky ledges, and captured unforgettable moments with butterflies dancing over wildflowers, birds soaring through the open sky, and reptiles basking in golden light.

Highlights included close encounters with the brilliant blue Polyommatus butterflies, sightings of woodpeckers and shrikes, and the opportunity to photograph lizards and snakes in their natural habitats — all under the guidance of experienced wildlife experts and photographers.

The days were filled with discovery and inspiration, and the evenings with laughter, stories, and shared images that brought the experience full circle.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who joined us — your curiosity, kindness, and creativity made this journey unforgettable. The mountains gave us their wonders, and we captured them through the lens and in our hearts.

Thank you for every single moment …. until next time — may the wild always call you back.
